“Erica’s strong retail experience and track record of delivering profitable growth in a variety of retail markets, alongside her proven leadership skills, makes her the ideal candidate to lead the business through its next phase of growth,” he said. Best & Less shares opened 1.5 per cent stronger to $2.05 after the announcement, but are still down by more than 30 per cent compared with a year ago.Berchtold announced her decision to The Iconic’s staff at the company’s Sydney headquarters on Thursday afternoon, citing personal commitments among her reasons for leaving the company.
Berchtold’s departure from The Iconic adds to a number of high-profile vacancies across the retail sector, including Baby Bunting, whose CEO, Matt Spencer, isThe Iconic is reportedly also hunting for a replacement for chief customer officer Dean Chadwick, who recently departed for accounting software company MYOB.
