This week Sky News Digital Editor Jack Houghton published a lengthy expose dubbed “The Fact Check Files”, revealing the foreign funded fact checking operation targeting Australia’s Voice referendum. “Meta pays RMIT Fact Lab up to $740,000 from an Irish subsidiary every year to censor so-called misinformation on its chief platform Facebook,” Mr Houghton said. “This has resulted in Sky News Australia’s journalism being limited in reach, and it has meant journalism about the Voice referendum has been censored and silenced by a campaign bankrolled by foreign funds. “This should infuriate all Australians.”
