Caleb Silver, editor in chief at Investopedia, says U.S. households are expected to spend around $3.8 billion decorating their homes for Halloween this season. Silver says, "..that is a little up from last year we are talking about $35 or so per household, but you can make it a lot more expensive depending on what you are trying to do to make your house look so scary."She was able to get $45.39 worth of decorations for just $5.39 out of pocket.
She went to Home Depot because with her credit card she was able to cash in points for a $40 gift card. She decided on two mums, costing $14.42 with tax. She also got skeleton lights that were $30.97 with tax. The total came in at $45.39. After using the gift card it was only $5.39 out of pocket.
