About a month ago, Thai Prime Minister, Srettha Thavisin, revealed that Singapore had a deal with Taylor Swift, that led her to only perform there. This was a

huge let down to her fans who could not afford to travel to Singapore to catch one of her shows but also to other ASEAN countries, especially Thailand, who looked forward to the tourism her concerts could have attracted.

Government spokesperson Chai Wacharonke revealed that the organiser of Tomorrowland has not only planned an event for 2026 but will also hold the event for 10 consecutive years.Thailand will also be the first ASEAN country to host Japan’s Summer Sonic festival this year, Summer Sonic Bangkok 2024 in August.

The spokesperson also shared the possibility of other sorts of international events being held in Thailand since Prime Minister, Srettha Thavisin’s discussions with organisers from the Formula One Group, Formula E and Art Basel. It looks like Thailand is about to become so much more interesting than they already are, with the impending arrival of Tomorrowland in 2026 that will allow many more Malaysians to afford their attendance rather than having to break the bank by traveling to Belgium.
