Teresa Kok ’s controversial take on halal certificates has caused a debate online, so much so that PDRM has started an investigation paper on her under Section 298 of the Penal Code, Section 505 of the Penal Code, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

In her statement, Teresa highlighted that she has always supported JAKIM’s efforts to promote Halal certificates in the F&B industry. According to her, the halal certificate used by JAKIM has the highest standard in the world. Teresa added that she would always emphasise the use of Halal certificates from JAKIM if it involves exporting food to other Muslim countries.
