In a statement shared via her Facebook post, Teresa also said this is against the spirit of cultural diversity in Malaysia and may turn the country into a laughingstock worldwide. Teresa added that halal certification is seen as hindering consumers’ freedom of choice and going against the country’s spirit of cultural diversity.
The Seputeh MP also suggested that the government focus on economic recovery and improving the well-being of the people rather than making unnecessary regulations.Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim responded to Teresa’s controversial take and assured Malaysians that her words do not represent Pakatan Harapan.
