Lebih 1,000 penduduk Kampung Pondok Ampang termasuk pelajar Sekolah Menengah Agama (SMA) Irsyadiah di Jeneri yang berdepan masalah gangguan bekalan air sejak sekian lama kini menarik nafas lega selepas projek telaga tiub siap dibina di kawasan itu.

Titah Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah, projek tersebut menggunakan air bawah tanah untuk meningkatkan bekalan air dan kualiti hidup masyarakat. Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah bertitah, Sik adalah daerah pertama bagi pelaksanaan program sulung TASK pada tahun ini di bawah skop kebajikan dengan kerjasama Kesatuan Penghulu / Penggawa Semenanjung Malaysia Cawangan Negeri Kedah selepas membina telaga tiub di Sungai Kob, Kulim.
“Apabila ada telaga tiub yang dibina berhampiran rumah, kami lega kerana masalah air dapat diatasi terutamanya ketika musim kemarau dan penggunaan bekalan elektrik di rumah boleh dikurangkan,” katanya.
