BREAKING: Two constables and a sergeant were taken to hospital with face and body injuries after responding to an alleged assault at a Gold Coast tram stop.
Three police officers have allegedly been assaulted by a teenage girl after what police described as a large street disturbance at a Gold Coast tram stop.
About 10pm on Friday, officers were responding to reports of the alleged assault of a 39-year-old man, who had sustained multiple facial injuries along the Gold Coast Highway at Broadbeach.Police arrested a 15-year-old girl, but while taking her into custody, she became agitated and allegedly assaulted three officers.
Two constables – one female and one male – and a male sergeant received face and body injuries, police said, and were taken to Pindara Private Hospital.She was scheduled to appear in the Southport Childrens Court, while another five teenagers, aged between 14 and 16, were dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
