TAWAU:  A 78-year-old man was injured in a fire which destroyed two houses in Lorong Hassan Rajiki, Tanjung Batu Laut, here, recently.

Tawau Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Jemishin Ujin, said the victim was reported to be in stable condition after receiving initial treatment. Jemishin said the fire also destroyed a Perodua Kelisa car.Earlier, he said a team of 16 officers and personnel were deployed to the location in four fire trucks upon receiving the emergency call at 4.11pm. “The team used two water streams sourced from the fire trucks, water tanks and nearby fire hydrants,” he said.
