Realize the forecast cone is the average forecast error over a given time - out to 5 days - & *does not* indicate the width of the storm &/or where damage that might occur. *** LOCAL IMPACTS FROM THE TROPICS: None. - ‘94-L’ - was upgraded to tropical storm “Tammy” late last Wed. & to a hurricane last Fri. morning & was finally deemed post-tropical early Thu.... then back to a tropical storm Fri. morning... & finally downgraded to a remnant low early Sunday.Forecast models are also indicating low pressure developing over the SW Atlantic north of Puerto Rico & east of the Bahamas.
The upper oceanic heat content across the SW Atlantic, Gulf & Caribbean:Saharan dust spreads west each year from Africa by the prevailing winds . Dry air - yellow/orange/red/pink. Widespread dust is indicative of dry air that can impede the development of tropical cyclones. However, sometimes “wanna’ be” waves will just wait until they get to the other side of - or away from - the plume then try to develop if other conditions are favorable.
Mid & upper level wind shear analysis . The red lines indicate strong shear:Deep oceanic heat content over the Gulf, Caribbean & deep tropical Atlantic. The brighter colors are expanding dramatically as we near the peak of the hurricane season.:Road closed due to construction work on CR-214 King St both ways from Granada St to Avenida Menendez. Detour in operation - Drivers who wish to continue south will detour onto Cathedral Place, Cordova Street and south on Granada Street.
