A man accused of stabbing an officer with the Surfside Police Department was arrested near downtown Houston Thursday after a nearly 48-hour search, authorities said.
According to officers with the Houston Police Department, HPD undercover officers located a vehicle that was believed to be that of the stabbing suspect.
Police said they followed the vehicle and when marked units attempted to stop the suspect, he fled the scene. A short pursuit ensued and officers said they were able to PIT maneuver the suspect’s vehicle.Ad The suspect reportedly had a knife on him, however, police said it was unclear if it was the weapon used in the stabbing.
Investigators said the suspect is facing charges of felony evading arrest but will also be charged with the stabbing after officers continue with their investigation.
