: The suspect involved in the shooting incident at Terminal 1 of KLIA early this morning has been urged to surrender himself immediately at the nearest police station.

Addressing reporters who gathered at the airport, today, Bukit Aman CID chief Datuk Seri Shuhaily Zain warned the suspect that any action thereafter will not undo the 1.30am incident. “Hence, I urge him to surrender immediately at the nearest police station,” he was quoted as saying byThe suspect, he further said, has two criminal records involving criminal intimidation, and one for theft and impersonating a civil servant.

Earlier, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the incident originated from personal issue and unrelated to terrorist activities or groups. “Investigations found that the suspect had intended to shoot his wife, who was waiting for the arrival of an umrah group,” he said.Hussein said the motive of the incident is still under investigation and the case is being investigated as an attempted murder under section 307 of the Penal Code and the Firearms Act.
