GEORGE TOWN: A total of 27,360 Teachers Day cards were prepared by students from 399 primary and secondary schools in Penang to show their appreciation to their cikgu.
Some of the cards were displayed at Setia SPICE Convention Centre in Bayan Lepas, the venue for the national-level celebration this year.
The participants designed the cards a week before they were handed over to the state education department. Present at the event were Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik, Education Ministry director-general Datuk Dr Amin Senin, state exco members Datuk Abdul Halim Hussain and Chong Eng, and state Education director Dr Mahanom Mat Sam.
