The National Weather Service’s outlook called for a chance of another round of thunderstorms going into the evening, but none materialized. The rest of the night was expected to be warm and muggy, with lows in the upper 70s and low 80sHeat will be dangerously high once again. Heat index temperatures will be as high as 111 degrees across all of Southeast Texas. Overnight lows are expected to again be in the high 70s and lower 80s.
High temperatures will be in the 90s on Saturday and will begin to rise again in the days that follow. Sunday could see the start of another five-day stretch where temperatures reach triple digits, according to the weather service. The humidity will continue to make temperatures feel even hotter and it’s likely the weather service will issue more excessive heat warnings.
