JOB scam syndicates in Myanmar have spread their tentacles to Malaysians with disabilities, reported China Press.
One of its victims was a 29-year-man identified only as Zhou who has epilepsy and suffers from a learning disability.
Fan, 54, said that Zhou was desperate for a new job as he was unhappy with his previous job in a printing factory.“We don’t really keep in touch. It was only in January when we realised that he had found a new ‘job’ in Taiwan,” she said. Fan claimed that the syndicate demanded a ransom in exchange for the release of her son but her family was unable to pay the demanded amount as they were financially strapped.
