Cybersecurity firm Kaspersky has uncovered a new malware threat called SparkCat that has infiltrated applications available on both Apple's App Store and Google Play . This marks the first time this type of malware has been detected on the App Store, raising concerns about the security of Apple's platform. SparkCat has been found in around 10 applications ranging from AI tools to food delivery services, including WeTink, AnyGPT, and ComeCome.
Once installed, this malicious code can grant attackers access to sensitive user data, including photos, passwords, and most alarmingly, cryptocurrency wallets. This discovery highlights the vulnerability of even supposedly secure platforms to sophisticated malware attacks.
