Get ready for the Chinese New Year with some hiss-terically cute snake-inspired nail designs!

Nail artist Cassie Ong, 24, is showing off various snake-themed options at a nail salon in George Town, Penang. Admin executive Ginnie Ng, 24, said she's considering trying out snake nail designs for Chinese New Year. She usually gets festive motifs painted on her nails, but this year she's open to something different. Some of her snake designs will likely be red, as it's a color associated with the celebration.

Ng also does other self-care routines like dyeing her hair, getting facials, and eyelash extensions before Chinese New Year. She'll need to be careful with her nails once they're done, avoiding tasks like washing dishes and opening cans. At the nail salon, admin head Rieeykohh Tang says most customers are requesting themed nail designs, including ribbons, cat eye designs, and snake designs. Customers can choose from various colors and designs, with many opting to get their nails done closer to the holiday. The salon extends its operating hours a week before Chinese New Year to accommodate the increased demand
