Malaysia Airlines is increasing flight frequencies between Kuala Lumpur and Sabah/Sarawak to meet the surge in travel demand during the year-end holidays and Chinese New Year celebrations. The airline will operate 112 additional red-eye flights this month, with 66 more to Sabah hubs (Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, and Tawau) and 46 more to Kuching and Miri in Sarawak. Between December 19th and January 1st, 2025, a total of 596 flights will be available. For Chinese New Year, Malaysia Airlines will operate 102 additional red-eye flights between January 24th and February 4th. The airline is also offering all-in fares starting at RM349 for one-way flights between KL and Sabah/Sarawak.

Malaysia Airlines has announced that it is increasing flight frequencies between Kuala Lumpur and Sabah/Sarawak for the year-end travel season, as well as for next month’s Chinese New Year celebrations. This is to accommodate the expected increase in travel demand during the two peak seasons. This will bring the total of flights between KL and the Bornean states – from Dec 19 to Jan 1, 2025 – to a whopping 596!
