The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in Batangas province suspended sea travel on Monday, May 29, for small vessels due to rough sea conditions.

LUCENA CITY — The Philippine Coast Guard in Batangas province suspended sea travel on Monday, May 29, for small vessels due to rough sea conditions.

In an advisory, the PCG cited a 5 a.m. forecast by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration of a strong gale with wind force and rough to very rough sea conditions in the southern Luzon seaboard, including Batangas. This meant that all trips of small sea craft with 250 gross tonnages or less, like motorized passenger or fishing boats, in Batangas port were suspended.

The suspension order would be lifted and sea travel for small sea craft “may be resumed any time when weather/sea conditions permit as may be declared” by Pagasa, the PCG-Batangas said. INQ
