Fire has destroyed one of Sudan's most iconic buildings as fighting in the nation's capital, Khartoum, continues to escalate.

The offices of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization were also set alight, as Sudan War Monitor - a group which publishes updates on the conflict - confirmed the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces had mounted widespread attacks on Sudanese military positions.
