Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina Kong Aik, Mata Ayer, Arau merekodkan tiada kemasukan murid berbangsa Cina pada hari pertama pembukaan sesi persekolahan 2025/2026 Menurut laporan Harian Metro, sekolah itu yang sudah beroperasi sejak 1939 menerima 23 murid berdaftar tahun satu yang terdiri daripada bangsa Melayu dan Siam.
Guru Besar SJK Kong Aik, Leong Yong Siang pula berkata, kemasukan murid berbangsa Cina di sekolahnya semakin menurun saban tahun sebaliknya murid berbangsa Melayu, Siam dan India lebih banyak mendaftar masuk ke sekolah itu."Pada tahun 2023, terdapat lima murid Cina mendaftar memasuki Tahun Satu di sekolah ini namun ia menurun kepada hanya tiga orang murid sahaja tahun lalu.
