HONG KONG (SCMP): A Shanghai woman staged a wedding with a man posing as a rich real estate businessman, promised to buy her relatives cheap properties and scammed 12 million yuan (US$1.6 million) out of them.
KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a woman who hit her daughter, causing the daughter to fall and hit her head on the corner of a bench, resulting in a bleeding forehead in front of a supermarket in Jejawi, Arau, on Monday , Malay language portal Astro Awani reports.
According to Arau OCPD Supt Ahmad Mohsin Md Rodi, the 37-year-old suspect who works as a canteen worker was detained in her rented room in Jejawi at around 11.30pm Monday night. "The victim is the suspect's four-year-old daughter and she was found to have a stitched wound on the right eyebrow. "The incident is believed to have happened in front of a sidewalk of a supermarket in Jejawi, and the case is being investigated under Section 31 of the Child Act 2001," he said in a statement today.
