A family and two Indonesian men wade through a nearby forest to escape rising floodwaters in Kuala Krai, Malaysia, after their home in Kampung Sungai Embak was inundated with five feet of water.
Six individuals, including four children, faced a terrifying ordeal when they were forced to wade through a nearby forest following heavy rain on Friday (Nov 30) in Kampung Sungai Embak, Kuala Krai . The house of the family was flooded with water reaching five feet. Housewife Azila Abdul Aziz, 38, described the night as indescribably difficult as she, her husband, and their two children aged eight and seven, along with two Indonesian men, sought refuge in the forest to escape the rising waters.
They made their way through the forest for about 15 minutes to reach the surau. Azila informed her family and friends about the situation. The Social Welfare Department's Info Bencana portal reported that as of noon, 40 temporary evacuation centers have been set up in Kuala Krai, providing shelter for over 5,000 individuals. Several villages in Kuala Krai remain flooded due to continuous rainfall over the past few days
