Bixenstein has served for 11 years on the Shaker Heights Development Corp. and is currently president of theIf elected, she wants to focus on equitable economic development to ease residents’ tax burdens, diversify that tax base and promote both housing and commercial development -- including less affluent areas. She is also for sustainable parks and quality recreational facilities.is a 10-year resident of the Ludlow neighborhood who moved here with his wife and four children for the schools.
A licensed social worker with 20 years of experience, the Lomond resident is also a co-founder of the Shaker Heights Anti-Racism Coalition who will keep an eye on the recently-passed “” legislation. She remains concerned about a lack of services available to youth and seniors, as well as a “recreational deficit” in a wealthy community.
She’s enjoyed a successful career as a linguist, teacher and freelance writer, but Moore said her favorite job has been 28 years in public office -- six on the Shaker school board and 20 on council.
