Singapore authorities are investigating fake job postings on LinkedIn that claimed to be from a branch of the Communist Party of China and its Communist Youth League.

The authorities in Singapore are investigating two job listings posted on LinkedIn that purportedly came from a branch of the Communist Party of China and its Communist Youth League. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) stated that it is aware of the situation and has received police reports. The listings, which appeared on December 20th, sought a party branch secretary and deputy branch secretary for a supposed Ngee Ann Polytechnic branch of the youth league.

The MHA emphasized that Singapore will not condone the introduction of foreign political agendas within its borders. The Chinese embassy in Singapore confirmed that one of the organizations mentioned in the job descriptions does not exist in China, labeling the information as fake and unreliable. Both listings were removed from LinkedIn, and the account offering them was subsequently taken down.
