SIBU: A jobless man was arrested for walking into Sibujaya police station with a meat cleaver.
Sibu OCPD Asst Comm Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said around 5pm on Sunday , the 23-year-old man showed up with a meat cleaver in his hand, to the surprise of two police personnel manning the front desk."The personnel immediately asked him to throw the knife on the floor outside the station.
The man was arrested and the knife was seized," he added."Upon investigation, the suspect revealed that he was carrying the knife for self-defence, as he was worried that somebody would assault him," said ACP Stanley.The case is being investigated under Section 7 of the Corrosive and Explosive Substance and Offences Weapon Act 1958.
