and Cathay signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on sustainability initiatives that will boost efforts to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050 and initiate changes in the airline industry.

Under the deal, the two airlines aim to promote sustainable aviation fuel development and adoption in the Asia-Pacific region. SIA and Cathay will work on raising public awareness about SAF’s role in decarbonising aviation, advocating for supportive policies, and promoting the creation of a standard global accounting and reporting framework to ensure transparency and verifiability of emission reductions from the use of the fuel.
