The operating theatres at Sultan Idris Shah Hospital (HSIS) Heart Centre in Serdang, which were out of order for several months due to maintenance issues, are now fully operational. While the facility experienced repeated disruptions, including air-conditioning and electrical problems, repairs have been completed, allowing all four operating theatres to resume functioning.

PETALING JAYA: The operation theatres at the Sultan Idris Shah Hospital Heart Centre in Serdang, which were out of order several months ago due to maintenance issues, are now up and running. The source claims that the repairs took place more than a month ago.

At that time, only one of the operating theatres in the hospital’s old building was functioning, leaving a long tally of patients on the waiting list. On June 7, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said three out of the four non-functioning OTs in the Serdang Heart Centre have been working since June 5.

The report, quoting sources, said the new wing’s operating theatres had to be closed for three weeks from July 22 due to multiple electrical issues, resulting in surgeries grinding to a halt.
