Queensland Police has charged a 24-year-old man with murder and robbery over an alleged stabbing in the Gold Coast suburb of Hope Island last week.
Queensland Police have charged a second man over an alleged murder which shut down a Gold Coast suburb earlier this month, with authorities claiming the two accused had planned to rob their victim before he was stabbed to death.Paramedics were called to Harbour Point Shopping Complex on Monday, March 11, just after 2:30pm where they discovered a 21-year-old man who had been stabbed in the chest.
However, on Wednesday, police announced they had re-arrested the Hope Island man following further investigations, charging him with murder and robbery.The 24-year-old is scheduled to face Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday afternoon. "The way the legislation is written is that if you're planning to conduct a robbery, and the outcome of that robbery is that someone is deceased, then you're also implicit in that murder also."
