Police have launched a homicide investigation after the man was stabbed near Hope Island shopping centre.
A man has died after allegedly being pulled from a car and stabbed on the Gold Coast, with police later arresting two people over the incident.
Officers had launched a homicide investigation, declaring a crime scene on Santa Barbara Road near Hope Island Shopping Centre and the Boardwalk Tavern, after they were called to the area about 2.20pm. Following a search for the alleged attackers, police confirmed just before 6pm they had arrested two people, one of whom was a 25-year-old man. Police were yet to confirm the age of the second person.
Police on Tuesday morning charged one of the men, a 23-year-old from Redbank Plains, with murder. He was scheduled to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday.A police spokesman said officers found the victim after reports he had been seriously assaulted.“Emergency services attempted to revive the man, however, he was declared deceased at the scene a short time later.”Nine News
Investigations were continuing on Monday afternoon, with detectives urging any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
