SUBANG JAYA: The Rahmah umbrella that covers the B40 group is set to spread wider with affordable insurance or loans on the cards.
Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub said his ministry will hold an engagement session with bank operators next week to brainstorm possible initiatives under Payung Rahmah.
"We might be able to provide affordable insurance or loans for the B40 group, as is what proposed by MBSB Bank. Salahuddin said he had met with former finance minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz in Parliament to discuss the possibility of getting the banking industry involved in the Rahmah initiative."I've requested his help in engaging with the industry players," he said.
