Police say human remains found on a Kudla property following a tip-off belong to missing Adelaide man Steven Murphy. Police are treating his death as a homicide.
Police have confirmed human remains found at a property in Kudla earlier this week belong to missing man Steven Murphy.Human remains were found on TuesdayDetectives discovered the remains on Tuesday afternoon in a, north of Adelaide, after receiving a tip-off about missing northern suburbs man Steven Murphy.
Police today confirmed the remains belong to the 38-year-old and said they were treating his death as a homicide. Major Crime detectives began searching the Kudla property on Sunday evening and on that day allegedly found 20 cannabis plants being grown hydroponically in a rear shed, as well as a .22 rifle and .22 ammunition, which police said were not securely stored.The focus of the search was the rear of the property, where police said they found a recently excavated area and disturbance to the ground.
On Monday, police arrested a 46-year-old man from the home for a number of firearms offences, and for cultivating a commercial quantity of a controlled plant and possessing prescribed equipment.On Monday police said they were not aware of any links between Mr Murphy and the residents of the Kudla address, but said the investigation was still in its early stages.
