Roland Emmerich’s latest blockbuster, Moonfall, has a stunning new IMAX poster. Over the years, the director, one of the highest grossing of all time, has become widely recognized for his science-fiction features, such as Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow, and 2012. His upcoming disaster film, Moonfall, is one of the most expensive independent films ever made, with a production budget of $140 million.
Moonfall stars an impressive cast that includes Halle Berry, Patrick Wilson, John Bradley, Michael Peña, and Donald Sutherland. Its trailer hints that an alien entity might be involved with the Moon’s sudden change in orbit and that the film’s conspiracy theorist, played by Bradley, could be right about what the Earth’s satellite actually is.
The first five minutes of Moonfall were made available to watch back in December, and the comments indicate a high level of excitement from audiences. Opening with the vastness of space, the video features a group of astronauts casually discussing the Toto song,"Africa," and establishing their relationship, before the unknown force sweeps them.
The IMAX poster and news of its remastering comes right after the release of Moonfall's official character posters, including ones featuring a close look at Berry and Wilson's roles. With this new content, and signs pointing towards some big twists, Emmerich's latest film seems to be marketing to the masses.
