Starring former Hercules: The Legendary Journeys star Kevin Sorbo, the series aired between 2000 and 2005 on the Global Television Network in Canada and in broadcast syndication in the US. Andromeda was, therefore, airing concurrently with Star Trek: Enterprise but they never crossed over with each other.

One of Andromeda's executive producers was Majel Barrett, who as well as being Roddenberry's widow, had voiced Star Trek's computers, played Lwaxanna Troi, and Star Trek: The Original Series' Number One and Nurse Chapel.
