The government will channel at least RM30 million a year to a proposed trust fund which will be managed by the Tunku Abdul Rahman Alumni Association for the benefit of Tunku Abdul Rahman University College and its students, said Finance Minister Lim Guan EngIn a statement today, Lim said the Government Matching Grant Trust Fund would have as its members, representatives of TAA, TAR UC student representatives and a representative of the Finance Ministry.

Lim said the government decided to implement this after certain quarters questioned its sincerity to channel at least RM30 million annually to TAR UC if TAR UC respects the principle that political parties should not own educational institutions.
