IPSWICH, England (Reuters) - Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola said his side were back to their old selves following a 6-0 demolition of Ipswich Town on Sunday that moved them into the Premier League top four.
PETALING JAYA: They were supposed to ensure their clients’ best interests, but some rogue lawyers have swindled 167 of them to the tune of RM160.1mil in the last four years.
“We had a case in September last year where a 47-year-old female company director lodged a report that a law firm in Kuala Lumpur had duped her. “The suspect failed to do so and gave various excuses, leading the victim to suspect he had misused her funds and assets,” he added.“He lodged a report in Johor on Aug 6 last year. In 2013, the victim had hired a law firm as a stakeholder to receive service fees charged to his clients. A bank account under the law firm’s name was created, and RM833,473 in fees were transferred to the account.
While the police will focus on enforcement, Comm Ramli urged the Bar Council to review procedures, work processes, their ethical code and other aspects to close any loophole that could be exploited, to curb and prevent such cases from occurring.

Bird Flu Outbreak Forces Precautions in Eastern EnglandBird farms along England's east coast are implementing preventative measures against avian influenza following recent outbreaks of the virus. The UK's Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) confirmed new cases of bird flu in Norfolk and East Riding of Yorkshire last week. Defra has ordered the culling of infected birds and imposed a 3-kilometer protection zone around the Norfolk farm. Regional bird flu prevention zones are also in place across eastern England, including Lincolnshire and Suffolk, to curb the spread. Bird keepers in affected zones must now house their birds to protect them from the virus. The risk of bird flu infection among wild birds in Great Britain is now deemed 'high', while the risk to chicken farms is categorized as 'moderate to high'. Eleven cases of the H5N1 strain and one case of the H5N5 strain have been detected in England during the current outbreak. The first case was reported in November, and no confirmed cases have been reported in Scotland or Wales yet. According to the World Organisation for Animal Health, Great Britain is no longer free from HPAI. Between 2021 and 2023, the UK experienced its largest ever outbreak of bird flu due to the H5N1 strain, resulting in the death of 3.8 million birds and widespread transmission within wild bird populations.
