Rexy Mainaky, the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) national coaching director, has been working tirelessly to elevate the standard of Malaysian badminton since taking over the position in September last year. Rexy manages the pressure well, finding solace in watching football, his favorite sport.
Despite some successful tournament results, the dream of winning an Olympic gold medal for Malaysia remains unfulfilled, with only a bronze medal achieved by Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik at the recent Olympic Games. Rexy sees this as a challenge to push him further and aims to strengthen the men's singles department by collaborating with singles head coach Kenneth Jonassen. He hopes all coaches will work together to achieve this goal.
