Helicopter crews are working to rescue a group of children and a teacher in a cable car suspended 365m above a valley in Pakistan.

The group was halfway through the journey when the cable snapped in a remote, mountainous part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The students and teacher had already been suspended in the air for more than four hours when a Pakistan Army helicopter arrived on the scene, according to images shown on local television.
