Helicopter crews are working to rescue a group of adults and children in a cable car suspended 365m above a valley in Pakistan.

Pakistan Tourism confirmed on X, formerly known as Twitter, that commandos had delivered food, water and "medicines to normalise heart rate" to the group just before 3pm, in what it described as Pakistan's most complex and sensitive rescue operation. The group had already been suspended in the air for more than four hours when a Pakistan Army helicopter arrived on the scene, according to images shown on local television.
