Some Muslims in Singapore have been wondering why Hari Raya Puasa here falls on Tuesday (May 3) when neighbouring countries Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei are celebrating the festival on Monday (May 2).
SINGAPORE : She met her husband on Instagram in 2019, got engaged and moved to Singapore to get married a year later.
Her husband, Singaporean Shaik Izzul Mujahid, 24, had shaved his beard, donned a deliveryman's uniform, wore a mask and removed his spectacles when he arrived at the house with a large box. But first, they told Jariyah over the phone that they could not travel as they were still settling into their new jobs.
"I thought that if I find someone from Kedah, it will allow us to easily go back to her home town for Hari Raya visits in the future," he said.
