Scammers in Port Dickson have escalated their tactics by using the district police station's hotline number to carry out their schemes. Port Dickson police chief Supt Maslan Udin stated that investigations revealed the scammers had used the district police’s 017-600 1411 hotline number to contact and defraud potential victims. \\Supt Maslan emphasized that the hotline number is solely for official purposes and will not be used to contact the public.
He stressed that the police take this matter seriously and have initiated an investigation. He added that the number will not be used to obtain personal financial information or banking details from the public. \\Supt Maslan urged the public to exercise caution and not fall prey to individuals using threats or psychological pressure. He advised them to always verify information with the relevant department or agency when receiving suspicious calls.
