Two police reports have been lodged in Perak, Malaysia, regarding imams who allegedly did not use the Friday sermon text provided by the Perak Islamic Religious Department (JAIPk). The reports, filed by two individuals at the Teluk Intan Police Station, are being investigated by police who have referred the matter to JAIPk for further action.

“Setakat ini ada dua laporan polis dan kita telah rujuk laporan itu kepada JAIPk untuk tindakan selanjutnya,” katanya ketika dihubungi di sini hari ini. Laporan polis itu dibuat setelah imam terbabit mengakui membaca teks khutbah disediakan pada tahun 2023, bukan teks khutbah terkini. Tajuk teks khutbah Jumaat di semua masjid di Perak adalah ‘Keburukan Fitnah: Pengajaran Dari Peristiwa Al-Ifki’ manakala di Pulau Pinang pula bertajuk ‘Muhasabah di Bulan Sya’ban’.
