Four individuals died after attending a New Year's Eve concert in Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya. Police are investigating the cause of death and have recorded statements from 15 individuals, including friends and family of the victims.
15 individuals have been recorded statements so far to assist in the investigation into the deaths of four people after attending a New Year's Eve concert in Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya on December 31. Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said some of the individuals interviewed included friends and family of the victims. “Police are also currently awaiting autopsy and toxicology reports to determine the cause of death,” he said when contacted by Bernama today.
Hussein said that based on information received from the University Malaya Medical Center (PPUM), two other victims who also reported similar symptoms related to the deaths of the four individuals have begun to regain consciousness, but remain weak. Previously, Hussein was reported as saying that initial police investigations found that the four victims who died after attending the concert were suspected to be involved in the consumption of ecstasy. The organizers subsequently issued a statement that they had taken various safety measures such as the presence of more than 100 police officers, deploying trained security personnel and K9 units at all entrances, and would fully cooperate with the police investigation. Previously, media reported that police were investigating the cause of death of four individuals aged between 20 and 40, including two women, after attending the New Year's Eve concert.
