GEORGE TOWN: Police here believe that they have crippled the burglary gang responsible for a series of house and store break-ins with the arrest of three men on Friday (Nov 22).

Georgetown OCPD Asst Comm Soffian Santong said the arrests took place after the owner of a shop on Jalan Masjid Negeri found that his business had been ransacked at about 10pm on Thursday .

He then added that police acted on information received and detained members of the gang at three separate locations in Ayer Itam in a raid that ran from midnight to 1.30am ACP Soffian said stolen items such as cutters, a steel welding machine, welding cables, a steel cutter, a stone breaker machine and a grinding machine were seized during the raid.
