The family of Samah Baker can finally lay her to rest after New South Wales Police confirmed remains found near Goulburn belonged to the missing woman.
In March that year, authorities arrested and charged a 32-year-old man with her murder, but were still unable to locate Ms Baker's body.
Local officers worked with the state's homicide squad to determine the identity of the victim, before forensic results confirmed the remains belonged to Ms Baker. "The news of her remains being discovered four-and-a-half years later isn't a neat resolution, but it does offer a small measure of what we've been longing for all this time. Each development in the case feels like a reopening of our barely healed wounds, reminding us of the harsh reality of our loss."We ask for privacy in dealing with our grief."
