“The Sexual, Women, and Child Investigations Division has detected teenagers trying to sell provocative images of themselves via social media,” he toldHe emphasised the importance of vigilance, urging parents to check their children’s social media content and the identities of their virtual friends.
The operation, which spanned six states — Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Johor, Terengganu, Penang and Perak — recently reported on the widespread sale of Malaysian-made explicit content, including CSAM, on social media and messaging platforms. “Easy access to pornographic content has led to severe addiction, with children, some as young as primary school pupils, becoming involved in creating and profiting from CSAM content,” Siti Kamsiah noted.
