BANGKOK: Thailand is grappling with a pressing gambling crisis, with nearly 5 million children and young people participating in various forms of gambling, according to health experts and academics speaking at a forum on Friday (Nov 29).

The deaths of two sisters were reported from the landslide tragedy in Kampung Bukit Apit, Ajil, Hulu Terengganu.A 35-year-old man was electrocuted, a 64-year-old man is believed to have drowned in Machang, and a toddler drowned after falling into floodwaters at his house in Kampung Cherang Melintang, Tumpat.
There are now a total of 704 active temporary evacuation centres across 37 districts throughout the country. Comm Mohd Yusoff said all GOF personnel had to seek shelter at several relief centres in Lubok Setol, but noted that they would still continue monitoring the border and enforcing security controls, according to Bernama.
“Among the works are to coordinate recovery works on communication infrastructure to ensure residents can keep in touch during natural disasters,” the MCMC said.
