Officers arrest 30-year-old Slade Murdok after earlier retrieving his mother Wendy Sleeman's CCTV system and a knife from the lake behind her home.
abc.net.au/news/man-arrested-search-continues-missing-elanora-woman/101892388The son of missing Gold Coast woman Wendy Sleeman has been arrested as police continue their search for the 61-year-old.Ms Sleeman went missing from her Elanora home on Tuesday in suspicious circumstances.Police last heard from Ms Sleeman on Tuesday afternoon when she reported her house had been broken into and her security system disconnected and stolen.
Officers were called to the Ironbark Street home just after 3:30pm where they found blood and and a doormat on fire.On Wednesday afternoon, police divers began searching a lake behind Ms Sleeman's house, recovering a knife and parts of a CCTV recording system. Police had earlier said they had grave concerns for Ms Sleeman, after finding "clear signs of violence", including a large amount of blood.
