Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has offered Australia's full support to the United States after a"regrettable" military crash off the coast of Darwin.carrying 23 US marine personnel crashed near Melville IslandThe incident occurred during ‘Predators Run’ drills, which involve personnel from Australia, the United States, Indonesia, the Philippines and Timor-Leste.

“The initial reports suggest that the incident involves just US defence force personnel, that there are no members of the Australian defence involved in this incident," Mr Albanese told reporters on Sunday afternoon. "Five Marines have been returned to Darwin for treatment with the remaining being triaged at the scene," he said.

One of the US marines is currently undergoing an operation, with a further four in"critical condition" at the Royal Darwin Hospital.
