The Labor government has pledged $65 million to upgrade a Launceston stadium, which Prime Minister Anthony Albanese indicated will be critical for Tasmania securing its own AFL team.
The figure will match the state government’s contribution, and will go towards a new entertainment precinct, more dining options, player facilities and an enhanced eastern stand.Prime Minister is expected to unveil funding for a new stadium in HobartSpeaking from Launceston, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said he has long been an advocate for an AFL team in the island state.
